| ZINOVATION BREAKS THROUGH FOR WELL DESERVED WIN!
NZ staying 4yo Zinovation broke through for a well-deserved win at Moe Tuesday May 12 at start number 10 much to the relief of his loyal ownership group. A very immature NZ staying type who is still learning his trade, Zinovation has raced well without breaking through recording 3 previous seconds and 2 thirds and his win at Moe was thoroughly deserved and a sign that he is now starting to mature as a stayer. Zinovation is a galloper that continues to make small amounts of progress at each run and Zac Spain who rode the 4yo at Moe was well experienced on his little idiosyncrasies and road him a peach. Drawing wide which was a nice draw for such a big horse as he is, Zac took his time to roll across from that draw to land outside the leader Lillard at the winning post the first time around. From that point Zac had Zinovation travelling sweetly and looked to have Lillard covered a long way out, but that horse gave an excellent kick over the last 600 metres to make Zac work hard on Zinovation in the straight before he eventually drew away on the line for an impressive three quarters of a length win, with a further 13 lengths to Clydebank Robber who filled third. Zinovation has also been loving the hurdle schooling that he has been recently having with the Pateman's down at Barwon Heads which seems to have switched him on and his recent 2nd in a hurdle trial at Terang had him nice and sharp for Moe. Zinovation looks to have a future now that he has broken through either remaining on the flat OR over the hurdles/steeples which gives us a few options to pursue, and he is a lovely sound 4yo who tries very hard. A NZ $70,000 purchase out of Book 1 at the 2023 NZ Karaka yearling sales, Zinovation has now had 10 starts for 1 win, 3 seconds and 2 thirds for $50,105 in stakes and is making nice inroads on his initial purchase price for connections.
