| ZENDE WINS IMPRESSIVELY AT GEELONG. (29th January 2020)
Brazen Beau 3YO Zende returned to racing in fine style by winning the BET365 Protest Promise 3YO Maiden first up at Geelong Jan 29 in impressive fashion and indicating in the process, that there may be better wins in store. The win was very impressive as after jumping well, jockey Zac Spain (who rode the 3YO exceptionally well) had Zende sitting comfortably outside the leader Whittington Stone and that’s where the pair stayed until the turn. On straightening it was clear that Zac had a lap full of horse under him and Zende surged to the front half way down the straight to win pulling up on the line by a clear two and quarter lengths, a margin that could have been extended had Zac felt the need. Zende has been impressive all through his time with Mick and Michael Kent and through his initial breaking and education with the Ledgers at Wangaratta who did a fantastic job with him in his initial education. He has been a very relaxed horse from Day 1 and possesses a faultless attitude to his racing and life in general around the stable. Zende was very impressive winning a Cranbourne barrier trial prior to his initial failure at Wodonga when expected to run well, however was found to be not 100% post-race, suffering from a mild virus when finishing 4th behind the winner Toffee Doll, who then ran very well herself at her next run in town at Flemington. Put away and given time to get right again, Zende has come back in super order this time around and his connections look set to enjoy some lovely Summer racing with this sound gelded Son of Brazen Beau! |
