| DAMSELFLY-OUTSTANDING DEBUT.
Beautifully bred filly Damselfly (Flying Spur x La Bella Dame) graced the track at Bendigo on Thursday September 18 and came away with a devastating win for her large army of owners. The first of La Bella Dame’s foals that was retained to race by the syndicate, the filly aided by a beautiful ride by Damien Oliver surprisingly settled back in the field but with Damien taking all the runs offered to him saw the filly show all of her mums customary finishing burst and will to win to come over the top to score by a length being eased up on the line with ears pricked. The time of 57.02 was half a second quicker than the next division of the Maiden and was under a second outside the track record which currently stands at 56.04.This filly does appear to have a big future and should be even better suited when she gets to 1400-1600 meters.
