Progressive Stravinsky 3yo Comic Composer scored a dominant win in the $50,000 Final of the 0-72 Winter Challenge held at Geelong on Friday 23rd July. Starting from a wide draw Comic Composer commenced well and worked across the field in the early stages to sit outside the leader Johadina.It was obvious to those watching that jockey Craig Newitt had a lap full of horse under him coming to the turn as he took a look behind before letting him go and Comic Composer quickly put pay to Johadina and went to the line an easy winner scoring officially by a length and a half from Doubt She’s Single with Johadina hanging on for third. Comic Composer has been a most consistent horse to date having had only the 7 starts for 3 wins,2 seconds and a third for total stakes of just over $60,000.This horse is most suited to the drier tracks and will be given a freshen should a suitable race not be found in the next week or two. He looks to have improved since his last prep and is definitely a horse to follow for the future.
