| SIR READY WINS IN A THRILLER.
Promising 2yo Sir Ready took on the older horses and won in a thrilling finish at Seymour on Monday June 6 at only his second race start. Starting from the extreme outside gate Sir Ready had to work across the field after showing good early speed finally settling outside the leader and that is where he stayed for the majority of the race. At the corner jockey James Winks seemed to have a lap full of horse under him and he kicked clear on straightening however his greenness and a lack of race fitness took its toll at the 100 meter mark and he was there to be beaten but showed a tremendous will to win to hold off the fast finishing challenge of the well backed Tenno to score an exciting win. This win was a fantastic result for the syndicate that raced Sir Ready’s mother in Ready Made Family who was a city class galloper in her own right only to have a short career (winning 1 from only three starts) and was retires prematurely due to injury. Ready Made Family was sent to Choisir and Sir Ready is the resultant first foal which the syndicate can claim to having had a winner from her first foal to race. A great result and reward for patience as this terrific group of people have stayed together for the journey. This particular syndicate are also well placed to reap some benefits in the future as they have a lovely Oratorio Colt on the ground earmarked for sale and Ready Made Family is in foal to highly credentialed Arrowfield Stallion All American. Sir Ready has pulled up well from his win and is looking to be stepped up into Metropolitan Class shortly.
