| LE BONSIR FROM LAST TO FIRST. (15th August 2011)
Exciting Choisir 4yo LE BONSIR made it 2 wins from only 4 starts when he showed an explosive turn of foot to come from last at the 600 meter mark to win running away to score by 3 and a quarter lengths at Geelong on Friday 12th August. The way Le Bonsir won did not go to pre-race plans and certainly missing the start by a couple of lengths was not part of the script, however jockey Craig Newitt did not panic but rather allowed the horse to settle at the tail of the field before moving the gelding to the centre of the track in the straight and the 4yo unleashed a powerful sprinting burst to win running away to score with ease running a last 600 meter sectional in 33.52 with the overall time of 1.4.68 being just under a half a second outside the track record.Le Bonsir will initially not be rushed back to town but rather concentrate on quietly going through the classes in the Country learning to be a race horse picking up valuable experience in the process and is expected to have his next race again at Geelong in a fortnight over 1300 meters. He is certainly a horse to follow and a repeat of his most recent win at his next start would then no doubt see him return to the city to contest a suitable race. |
