| ONPICALO-ONE START ONE WIN.
3yo Hussonet gelding Onpicalo went to the races for the first time at Seymour Sunday 5th August and came away with the perfect score winning the Fraser Earthmoving 3yo Maiden in impressive fashion. Starting from an outside gate and stumbling on jumping jockey Glenn Boss had to pick up and re balance Onpicalo very early on. After that Glenn was able to get some cover for the next 400 meters but was then left 3 wide and had no real option but to take off and that he did at the 600 meter mark and giving credit to the horse Onpicalo probably took him into the race a touch soon. On straightening he was clearly going to be hard to beat and hit the front half way down the straight and won comfortably by a length with Bossy sitting up on him on the line. It was a very impressive victory and the win had no fluke about it as he was the horse that had issues at the start and was wide for most of the race.Onpicalo looks a horse that has a nice future ahead of him and being a very cheap purchase for United Syndications at the 2011 Gold Coast Magic Millions sales where he cost only $40,000 he has the blood lines through Elvstroem,Haradasun and Starspangledbanner to train on and have the scope for further improvement. With that win now under his belt it may be the right time for him to now taste some city action!
