| LOVEYAMADLY BREAKS FLEMINGTON TRACK RECORD. (4th April 2013)
Outstanding mare Loveyamadly returned to Flemington where she got beat a head last July to Star Lani to reverse that loss by winning by an even smaller margin in TRACK RECORD time at Flemington on Saturday March 2.The clock stopped at 1.02.15 which broke Don’t Tell Tom’s long standing record of 1.02.20 (which was established over 8 years ago on the 18/12/2004) when Loveyamadly went over the line to win in a deceptive finish to score in a driving finish from the very game Avoid Lightning. Superbly ridden by jockey Dale Smith, Loveyamadly was rated perfectly all of the way and was instructed to start upping the ante from the 400 in an effort to make the top weighted runners carry their weight to the max. That he did and it was soon clear that Glows was struggling with the tempo however no one told Avoid Lightning and she was right in for the fight. It was a real slog between two class horses over the final 200 meters with neither horse giving an inch with Loveyamadly’s desperate will to win finally prevailing on the line. It was an outstanding result for this Syndicate who have experienced frustration but also elation along the journey with this horse.Loveyamadly has an outstanding record which currently stands at 8 starts for 5 wins,2 seconds and a third for $219,388.00 in stakes-a wonderful achievement. No doubt we will now be chasing more black type for this lovely daughter of Bel Esprit either now or in the Spring later in the year which ensures for plenty more excitement for her army of loyal followers! |
