TURF PRINCE SALUTES AT MORNINGTON..

Dour 4yo gelding Turf Prince finally got up to a distance that suited and recorded a narrow but impressive win at Mornington on Saturday 13th April in the 2400 meter Highweight Maiden. Ridden an absolute treat by Australia’s best jumps rider in Steven Pateman,Turf Prince jumped well and settled close up and always travelled well in the run. Pushed along from the 600 meter mark Turf Prince always looked to have control of the race but Wild Rivers was in for the fight and made Steve work hard to secure the victory going down in a tight finish by a short neck. It was just reward for the Syndicate who have been very patient with this son of O’Reilly who has been an immature staying type right from the start and has been crying out for distance all the way along. He is a sound robust galloper who maybe in the future could become United Syndications first ever jumper which is exciting and had been schooled in a lead up to this race. Turf Prince is a big sound tough galloper who tries very hard and is to be followed particularly if he takes a fancy to the jumps game as he is a horse that will stay all day and to date has run home in every race that he has run in indicating that distance is his forte-the further the better!
