| ONPICALO IN BRAVE MORPHETTVILLE WIN.
Progressive 3yo gelding Onpicalo improved on an already impressive record by winning the $34,000 3yo 0-75 over 1400 meters at Morphettville on Saturday 13th July. Ridden exceptionally well by 3kg Apprentice Patrick Moloney Onpicalo led unchallenged and survived a threatening finish by the David Hayes trained Beyond Infinity who ranged up to challenge half way down the straight however Onpicalo’s fighting qualities were at the fore and he was in for the fight as normal and fought Beyond Infinity off to win coming away at the finish by a half length in an excellent victory.Onpicalo was a $40,000 Magic Millions purchase out of the Emirates Park draft of 2011 and was a lovely horse as a yearling being by the Champion Stallion in Hussonet.He had great appeal on pedigree being out of a mare by a son of Danehill with this cross being responsible for the likes of the GROUP winners Reaan,Eagle Falls and Gold trail – a proven nick and with Onpicalo bred on this exact same cross it was not entirely unexpected that Onpicalo too would have his fair share of ability.Onpicalo has a nice future ahead and may soon get out to the mile which his pedigree suggests being related to the likes of Elvstroem,Circles Of Gold and Starspangledbanner.Onpicalo has had just the 8 starts for now 4 wins (3 of which are Metropolitan successes)and 3 thirds for $83,220.00 in stakes.
