| STAKES SUCCESS AT THE VALLEY FOR LE BONSIR. (14th September 2013)
Mature gelding Le Bonsir took his racing to whole new level at Moonee Valley on Saturday 14th September when he absolutely blew away a very good field of Sprinters to win the LISTED Chandler Macleod Stakes over 1200 meters. Given a gun run by jockey Michael Walker Le Bonsir settled second/third in the running after making race favorite Elite Elle work a touch to get over from a wide draw to lead. Michael then tacked onto her back settling in the box seat throughout and then everything (except for G. Boss on Lady Melksham knocking and unbalancing Le Bonsir twice before the turn) panned out exactly as hoped. The knocking if anything seemed to spur the 6yo on as he really gritted his teeth and ran down Elite Elle with an explosive turn of foot getting to the front almost too quickly in the straight but won most impressively to win pulling up on the line by a length and a half. His time of 1.10.8 was almost 6 lengths superior to that of when he won previously in 1.11.78 when defeating Sir Fernando. This horse is right in the zone at the moment and great credit goes to our Syndicate trainer in Mick Price who has had to deal with feet and growing issues all the way through but pulling up stumps every time when needed. Right now is the soundest that this horse has ever been and it is a good time now to hopefully test him at the top level.Le Bonsir has always been regarded as a talent and has an outstanding record which now stands at 20 starts for 8 wins,4 seconds, 2 thirds and overall prize money of $293,350. |
