| ONPICALO DOES IT AGAIN.
15th August 2015. Tough and resilient galloper Onpicalo again graced the winners stall this time for the 7th time and 6th in Metropolitan Class when the bulldog scored a smart win at Caulfield 15th August to lead all of the way. The son of Hussonet was ridden to perfection by Class apprentice Michael Dee who took the 6yo to the front just after the start and rode a very sensible front running race using the light weight to his advantage. Dee started rolling from the 800 meter mark and hit full throttle at the top of the straight and Onpicalo was able to establish a winning break just on straightening and had enough to hold onto score well from the Stakes performed Iggimacool with the French import Kesampour some distance away third. It was a terrific effort by one of the stable favourites who has built up a very consistent record which now stands at 27 starts for 7 wins 2 thirds and 6 thirds for overall prizemoney of $297,975- a terrific result off a $40,000 purchase from the Emirates Park draft at the 2011 Gold Coast Magic Millions. Onpicalo is deep into his prep however having a distinct liking for Caulfield where he has 3 wins and a second from only 6 runs at his home track his next run may well be at Caulfield in the $120,500 LISTED Heatherlie Hcp over 1700 meters on August 29 OR the $100,000 LISTED Balaklava Cup on Wednesday 2nd September. Either way it has been an exciting ride for everyone involved and we get the feeling that the party may not be quite over yet!
