Bella's Bro maintained his remarkably consistent record by managing to just hold on to score a well deserved win at Cheltenham on Saturday May 19.Superbly ridden again by apprentice Damien Robinson the son of Danzero showed great courage to hold off all challengers and hang on to win in a driving finish. Beginning well, Bella's Bro led early with Robinson slowing the tempo, Paul Gatt on outsider Outpoint seeing the pace had slowed decided to take off and serve it up to Bella's Bro and took over with Robinson easing and taking the trail. From the 600 meter mark the pressure went on and Bella's Bro put it to Outpoint, quickly gaining that horse's measure and with Robinson going for home at the point of the turn dashing clear it proved to be the winning tactic. The second horse Merlot Now was eating up the ground but ran out of room failing by a nose. That was Bella's Bro's third Metropolitan success in Adelaide and his overall record now stands at 23 starts for-6 wins,6 seconds and 2 thirds for $91,350 in Stakes.
