| NORTHERN CHARM IMPRESSIVE MAIDEN WIN.
Northern Charm broke her Maiden status at Tatura on Friday 17th Feb when the now 4yo mare led all of the way to win in impressive fashion by over 3 lengths. It has been a frustrating wait for her fantastic group of owners to see her greet the judge as this Daughter of Northern Meteor has been plagued with immaturity and injury issues which now touch wood are behind us. She has struggled in the past to hold weight when in full work and unfortunately it has been a waiting game for this mare to mature up physically, however Friday finally saw Northern Charm take the next step and win hitting the line hard. A typical excellent ride by jockey Jake Noonan saw him use the mares early speed to roll to the front and surprisingly was able to get a few cheap sectionals between the 1000 to the 400. Approaching the turn Jake decided to try and steal a break and that he did with Northern Charm giving a good kick in the straight to win running away by a widening 3.25 lengths and pulled up post-race in excellent fashion. The mare will be well placed for the future with no grand plans given her past history however the Mick Price stable have done an outstanding job in getting her to the track in such great condition and the impressive nature of Tatura’s win would indicate that there may well be more ahead!
