| EXFLYTATIONS TOUGH DEBUT WIN. (8th March 2017)
Lovely 3YO Exceed And Excel filly Exflytations fought hard and courageously to win her Maiden at Ballarat on Wednesday 8th March but the thought is that there are plenty of wins ahead. Off two very good thirds recently where she flashed home first up at Moe and then fought on very gamely at Ballarat last start where she was trapped wide but still kept coming in the straight,Exflytations was given no favours again but showed all the determination in the straight and the qualities of a horse that looks to be going somewhere. Drawing wide jockey Damien took his time to work over and sit outside the leader with Exflytations which seemed the place to be just outside the race favourite in Crystal Kingdom, however when it was clear that Exflytations had his measure at the turn and that horse folded it left Exflytations out in front much sooner than hoped and was very exposed and vulnerable. The pack kept coming but so did Exflytations and she showed terrific grit in the straight to hold off all challengers when she was there to be beaten defeating the Darren Weir trained Yulong Xiong Hu. Purchased at the 2015 Sydney Easter Sales for $100,000 from the Amarina draft Exflytations has done nothing but show ability from day one and get better as she has progressed with her Syndicate trainer in Mick Price. She is a full sister to the very good galloper in Flying Light and appears destined to follow her brothers footsteps and get out to 2000 meters as she matures during her 3YO career and beyond! |
