| NORTHERN CHARM RISES A LEVEL. (23rd March 2017)
4YO Mare Northern Charm has gone to another level this preparation and that was no more evident than at Pakenham on Thursday 23rd March when the daughter of Northern Meteor led from barrier to box to score a most emphatic win by a widening two and three quarter lengths on the line. Northern Charm certainly put the writing on the wall last start after a previous dominant Tatura Maiden win by just getting grabbed on the line at Ballarat by a very good and rock hard fit galloper in Mr Churchill and when that horse saluted prior to our race it franked the form for Northern Charm to run well. Jockey Jake Noonan seemed to get a pretty cozy run in front and started to stoke Northern Charm up on straightening who really responded and extended in the straight giving a good kick, actually running away on the line to defeat Red Right Hand who had a perfect run in behind us and the Darren Weir trained Chequered Flag. Northern Charm had been a frustrating horse for connections however it was evident that her physical stature needed time to develop and due credit goes to all of the Syndicate members for giving the mare the time she needed and Northern Charm is now starting to repay that patience. A lightly raced 4YO Northern Charm has now only had the 6 starts for 2 wins,1 second and a third and $38,410.00 in stakes however it is felt that the best lays ahead for this mare and she will be placed to advantage in order to maximize her returns to just a wonderful group of patient owners! |
