| NORTHERN CHARM DOES IT AGAIN. (13th April 2017)
Ultra-consistent mare Northern Charm continues to rise up the grades by making it 3 wins from her only 4 runs this time in by scoring at Pakenham on Thursday 13th April in narrow but impressive fashion in the F & M BM 64. The scene of her last victory 3 weeks ago, Northern Charm went up in both class and weight but did it again by bursting clear half way down the straight hanging on to score in a driving finish by a neck from the fast finishing Penny To Sell with the Darren Weir trained New Graduate filling third. It was extremely gratifying to also give young apprentice Jordan Grob who was having his first ride for the Price stable a quick win and some confidence after a copy book ride. Jordan had Northern Charm perfectly positioned in the box seat throughout and shouldered his way out at the top of the straight quickly having the Gai Waterhouse trained Let’s Celebrate covered who subsequently folded quickly. New Graduate looked the big threat at the 200 meter mark quickly getting along side and actually heading Northern Charm, however “Charmy” was in for the fight as was young Jordan who was determined to not let New Graduate pass and both rider and horse came out in front on the line much to the delight of her connections and Grob who was very excited about his first win post-race. Northern Charm is building quite a consistent record (being a very lightly raced Daughter of Northern Meteor) which currently stands at 7 starts for 3 wins,1 second and a third for $52,160.00 in stakes. She will be continued to be placed in suitable races where her consistency and terrific will to win I am sure will no doubt lead to future consistent racing! |
