I'MLOVIN'YA BRILLIANT IN THE REDLEVA. (22nd April 2023)
Exciting 3YO filly I'mlovin'ya returned to the track in brilliant fashion Saturday 22nd April in Adelaide to record her second Stakes victory by winning the LISTED Redelva Stakes in dominant fashion. The Daughter of Capitalist was most unlucky in the Spring where things simply didn’t work out for her, however she did record placings in both the GROUP 3 Quezette Stakes at Caulfield and LISTED Atlantic Jewel Stakes at Moonee Valley. Spelled and let mature after her unplaced Red Roses Stakes run on Oaks Day, I’mlovin’ya came back into work a different horse and had grown and thickened during her time out and ticked every box continually through to her planned first up run in the Redelva. Jockey Zac Spain took luck out of the equation when I’mlovin’ya jumped beautifully from a middle gate and although it was a bit messy early on in the race where Zac had to contend with runners three and four wide who were all looking to be on speed, he elected to hold his spot on the fence and was happy to share the lead. On straightening it was evident that Zac had a lapful of horse under him and when he asked I’mlovin’ya for an effort, she put up 4 lengths on the field in the blink of an eye and on the line was throttling down to win by just on 2 lengths in a very impressive performance. Much credit goes to Mick Price and Michael Kent on the way that they have trained this filly and had her in magnificent order nice and fresh for the Redelva. Due credit also goes to Zac Spain who has done a mountain of work for the stable over many years and personally it was satisfying that Zac could record this Stakes win on one of our horses. I’mlovin’ya is a Stakes winner as a two-year-old and now a three-year-old and has the race record of 7 starts for 2 wins and 2 thirds (all in Stakes Class) for prize money of $197,220. Saturday’s win was a great boost for the Loveyamadly family and her owners who have a King’s Legacy Weanling filly earmarked for sale in 2024, a So You Think Yearling filly who has just been broken in with John Ledger at Wangaratta to excellent reports and Loveyamadly is currently in foal to Champion Yarraman Park stallion I Am Invincible due in October!
