IMMORTAL LOVE REMAINS UNBEATEN AFTER STUNNING FLEMINGTON WIN..  IMMORTAL LOVE REMAINS UNBEATEN AFTER STUNNING FLEMINGTON WIN..

Immortal Love showed that his first up Echuca win was no fluke by simply blowing some highly credentialed runners away in the Tom Melbourne Trophy for 2YO’S over 1400 meters at Flemington Saturday 23rd May in a stunning victory. The smashing son of Snitzel, who is out of our previous Stakes winning Mare in Loveyamadly, simply blew his rivals away by three and a half lengths on the line AND was being eased down on the line in a most impressive performance. Jockey Craig Newitt had Immortal Love travelling very well outside the initial leader Heeza Commander throughout the race, however when that leader compounded on straightening, it left Immortal Love in front a long way out and a sitting duck. Credit must be given where credit is due, and Craig never panicked and slipped Immortal Love a touch of rein and Immortal Love skipped away in the straight showing a great turn of foot in the heavy conditions that prevailed and won easing up on the line from the race favorite Khoekhoe with the Ken Keys Indictment filling third. The race time of 1.25.12 was half a length quicker than the following BM 78 race winner La Chevalee and Immortal Love ran the quickest last 400 (24.65) and importantly the quickest last 200 sectional (12.76) of the race, indicating that he was certainly not slowing down in the concluding stages showing excellent strength and stamina in the process. Immortal Love looks to have an exciting future for his Syndicate of owners who decided to retain and race the gelding and keeps his unbeaten record of two from two and $66,388 in stakes intact. Immortal Love will now have a short spell before Spring riches await with his main target being the GROUP 1 Caulfield Guineas, where just judging by Saturday’s performance, 1600 meters would not be an issue. His Dam Loveyamadly now has the impressive record of having 3 foals to race for 3 winners including 2 now at Metropolitan level and is doing the job nicely for a wonderful ownership group!
