FIGHTING HARADA MAKES IT TWO IN A ROW..  FIGHTING HARADA MAKES IT TWO IN A ROW..

Brilliant Fighting Sun gelding Fighting Harada made in two in a row when saluting in fine style at Sandown Wednesday 3rd March in the BM 78 MRC Members Hcp over 1400 meters. The now 5YO showed that he is well and truly back to make a name for himself and proved that Pakenham was no fluke when winning first up. Fighting Harada’s well documented past issues hopefully appear to be now behind him, being superbly managed by the Warrnambool team and it is hoped that he can now have clear running for an uninterrupted prep as if he can, he will continue to build on what is quickly becoming an impressive race record. Ridden an absolute treat by jockey Dean Yendall who is starting to develop a real affinity with this horse, Dean had Fighting Harada one out one back after 400 meters and always travelled well in running. It was clear 600 meters out that with the soft ride that Dean gave the big boy in transit that Fighting Harada was always going to offer big time in the straight and just prior to the turn Dean was out in clear galloping room. On straightening, Fighting Harada cruised up to the race leader Imperial Lad and while that horse gave a really good kick in the final 200 meters, Fighting Harada was up for the challenge to win on the line from that horse by a half a length with Platini running well for third. Fighting Harada now extends his race record to 10 starts for 4 wins, 2 seconds and a third for $161,590 in stakes and will have a lovely three and a half week gap into his next anticipated run at Bendigo in a $75,000 1300 BM78 on Saturday 27th March. Wednesday’s win was again due reward for a wonderfully patient ownership group who have stuck strong with Fighting Harada throughout and judging by his first two wins this prep, the fun may not yet be over!
