NARROW BUT IMPRESSIVE WIN FOR MISS DAMITA.

NARROW BUT IMPRESSIVE WIN FOR MISS DAMITA..  NARROW BUT IMPRESSIVE WIN FOR MISS DAMITA..

Lovely Ocean Park 5yo Mare Miss Damita ran right up to her excellent first up run at Geelong recently to record a narrow but impressive win at Kyneton on October 15. Given a peach ride by in form jockey Zac Spain, Miss Damita was given a gun run in the one out one back trail and came with a sustained run in the straight to get over the top of the Nick Ryan trained Spensierato with Saint Katarina filling third. Her run at Geelong first up one can argue was a career best for the Mare, who came from last at the 800 meter mark to flash home late to run third and put the writing on the wall that a win was not far away and Kyneton at her next run proved to be that win. It is a great reward for her owners who have been patient with Miss Damita, a Daughter of Ocean Park whose progeny seem to relish a bit of time and this Mare appears to be improving as she matures. There will be no grandiose plans but steady as she goes for Miss Damita who is anticipated to next run in the Mortlake Cup on Derby Day. For the record Miss Damita has now had just the 15 runs for 3 wins,1 second and 4 thirds for $55,310 in stakes and is starting to build a nice consistent race record with what we anticipate, her best yet to play out!
